Bishwo Gautam is the first fashion designer in Nepal to have his own solo show. Despite being a student of commerce faculty, it was his proclivity towards creative fields that made him to enrol in Namuna College of Fashion Technology, one of the most reputed Colleges in Nepal in the related field.
Gautam had already begun working as a designer while in his second semester. With the little but knowledge and his keen interest towards his work, he started creating designs that were counted as of international standard. By the time Gautam graduated, he was already working full time as a lead designer in a major fashion houses in Nepal, maintaining his ever hectic lifestyle of a man determined to make his mark in the world.
As a self-made man, Gautam quickly saw the importance of being an entrepreneur as much as being a designer. So after a few years out of college, backed by three years of experience, Gautam had the start with his line "Designer Collection" in 2007, a major clothing company built to cater to international clients, from Europe to America.
While he had many shows before, it was only in 2011 that he stepped up to create his brand. His solo show "Lead of Fusion", at the Soaltee Crowne Plaza, became a star-studded event that celebrated his designs in 2011. It was after that event, Gautam was noticed by the media and celebrities in Nepal. He works for different actors, actresses, Miss Nepal including other crown holders of different pageants who represent Nepal to the international arena until 2015. He has showcased his collection in different countries like USA, Canada, Switzerland, France, Italy, and Australia.
11 years of experience, working in fashion & clothing industry, he went to the USA in 2015 for his next degree in Apparel Industry Management in FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising), Los Angeles. And he graduated in June, 2018 with 3.95 GPA.
He seeks to inspire and be inspired by others. The Architectures gives him the major motivation to get his work better and greater. Sometimes in his search for the beautiful designs: a small detail such as well-designed watch is enough to help him conceptualize an entire collection.
